The Customer Web Portal is an optional, add-on module purchased separately for use with MoversSuite. Once available, MoversSuite Professional Services will deploy the needed software to the application server and provide initial run-time settings. From there, it will be up to the company to update global settings and define user access.
The following table lists the general setup needed for the Customer Web Portal:
|
Setup |
Description |
|
Set and define variables referenced by the portal, including database connection variables within the global.asa file.
|
Use this setup to define accounts associated to the Customer Web Portal. The Name field value will appear atop of the Move Information page accessed by transferees. The Proof of Delivery option associated to an electronics move instructs the application to open a file set forth with Label 3 of the Custom Fields tab for POD document. This field appears within the Customer Specific section in User Defined Fields and users will enter the file name and extension of the POD file; the application looks this file based on its location set with the PODLink setting in Global File Setup.

This setup establishes a Customer Web Portal user granting them the ability to view orders and create leads based on a predefined profile. Specifically, the Web User Setup tab supplies login credentials, sets visible orders, sets visible user type, and company name displaying on many pages. Refer to the Web User Setup field descriptions within Personnel Setup for more information. The following is a list of items to consider when defining portal users: •Portal users are generally considered individuals outside of the organization, such as account representatives •User access is not limited to an individual. A record can be setup to provide company or group wide access; these users would all share the same username and password •Data within the User Setup tab is not required to access the portal; therefore portal users do not count as licensed users •New order requests created through the Customer Web Portal are based on the Default Branch set within the Personnel Setup record •The Profile setting determines what orders are accessible to the user The following are suggestions for defining portal users not associated to the organization: •Use the First Name/MI and Last Name to identify the web client, e.g. “Web” for the first name and “Access” for the last. •Enter Employee # in the format of “webNNN,” where “NNN” is a numeric sequence of users, e.g. “web001,” “web002,” etc. •Set Status to “ACTIVE” •Set Labor Type to “Web User” as defined within Labor Type Setup •Set the Default Branch as the base branch of new leads created through the New Order option •In the Contacts tab, enter an Email of the moving company representative receiving notifications when an account representative generates a new Household Goods order request. Additionally, this email account will receive notes generated through the portal; coordinators assigned to the order will also receive notification, so verify that all coordinators have the Email set •See the Customer Web Portal Setup and Administration field listing for information regarding setup

Leads created through the portal through the New Order function require storage of data not associated to any MoversSuite database field, therefore the data will insert into System Specific variables in User Defined Fields. Activate and define the following fields within the System File: Set UserDefinedLabel5 as “Storage Days” representing the number of storage days Set UserDefinedLabel6 as “Auto Number” representing the number of automobiles Set UserDefinedLabel7 as “Crate Number” representing the number of crates Set UserDefinedLabel8 as “W/D/I”

The portal utilizes the Task Group values assigned to orders within the Name, Address, Phone tab as a “product group” search option in Electronics Search and as a “company roll out” search option in Special Commodities Search. Header information that displays in the Customer Web Portal is based on the Account set for the Task record assigned to an order.
