Driver Advances Setup and Administration

The following table describes the setup related to Driver Advances.

Setup Area

Description

Advance Setup

Use this setup to define company-wide settings for advance management and processing.

Advance Banking Provider Setup

Use this setup to define the settings needed to create and send advance transaction data to a third party banking service provider.

Branch Setup

Set the Advance Company Number and related Advance FTP Host Directory that are appropriate for this branch record.  The Driver Advances system will use information from these fields to identify the correct areas to upload to; the application will reference these settings for the dispatcher or user logged into MoversSuite that performs the Generate in Advance Processing.

The Advance FTP Host Directory is the local directory that MoversSuite scans for upload files sent to the banking service provider specified in Advance Setup.

Personnel Setup

Setup crew and drivers to receive advances by setting the following:

On the Accounting tab, verify the Vendor and Commission Plan fields are set correctly.

On the Advance tab, set Account Number and Account ID provided by the service provider  (needed for upload file creation) and set Advance Cap Trip and/or Advance Cap Order (see Advance Limit for more information) depending on whether advances to the employee are based on trip or order.

On the Branch tab, verify that the Default Branch associates to the correct branch in Branch Setup

On the User tab, verify driver user access through the Security Profile Setup.

Verify that the Line Haul Percentage is set correctly for each crew and driver receiving advances.  This percentage typically represents the maximum amount of revenue an employee can draw from for an advance.

For users processing advances, verify that they can access the correct branches servicing the advances (Branch tab) and the correct Security Profile (User tab).

Security Profile Setup

Provide user access to either of the following modules:

Advance Management

Access Type of “Read Only” allows a user to view existing advances through Advance Management screen.  Access Type of “Full” allows a user to create advances for drivers using Advance Management.

The Allow Manager Privileges flag determines whether the profile is a manger that can grant advances up to the Manager Cap Amount set within Advance Setup.

Advance Processing

Access Type of “Read Only” allows a user to view existing advances through Advance Processing screen.  Access Type of “Full” allows a user to create advances for drivers using Advance Processing.
