The Advance Limit is the potential dollar amount available to advance to crew in Local Dispatch and drivers in Long Distance Dispatch.
Advance Limit Computation
The application computes the Advance Limit as the lesser of the following:
•Linehaul Percentage of the Discounted Linehaul PLUS Allow Amount Over Percentage *
•Advance Trip Cap or Advance Order Cap (depending on whether advance is for a trip or an order)
*-The application will set the Advance Limit to the Allow Amount Over Percentage value if unable to compute the linehaul percentage of discounted linehaul.
Maximum Available Computation
The maximum available to a crew or drivers computes as follows (displays as the Max amount in Add/Edit Advance):
•Advance Limit LESS existing advances for the crew or driver for the same order or trip
Manager Cap Amount
Additionally, a manager can grant an advance up to what is set within the Manager Cap Amount field in Advance Setup. This amount is based on advance amount and not on an order or trip.

The maximum dollar amount of all advances for a particular trip for the driver as defined in their Personnel Setup. |

Allow Amount Over Percentage |
This is the additional amount available to advance over the amount computed by taking the Line Haul % of the Discounted Linehaul. This field is set within Advance Setup and is a global setting that applies to all employees. If Line Haul % is not set or is zero, the application ignores the Allow Amount Over Percentage value. |

Discounted Linehaul |
This field is set within Move Information for an order. It represents the total amount of charges associated to an order. If the advance is on a trip, then the application takes the sum of the Line Haul % for the Discounted Linehaul for all orders belonging to the trip to compute the Advance Limit. |

Line Haul % |
Set within Personnel Setup, this field is the percentage of the Discounted Linehaul available to the employee. |

Manager Cap Amount |
Refer to Advance Setup for details. |

Max amount |
This field displays the computed dollar amount available for the advance to the Vendor based on the Advance Limit less the amount of advances existing for the Vendor for the same order or trip. This field is available within Add/Edit Advance screen. |

Trip Balance |
Visible within Current Driver Activity, this field displays the total amount available to advance to a driver. The application computes its value by taking the Line Haul % of Discounted Linehaul for all orders less existing advances for all orders associated to the selected trip. Note: Advances made to a driver under a trip order do not factor into the Trip Balance. |
