Equipment Document Type Setup

Use this setup to establish types for Equipment Documents. View the Equipment Documents Setup topic for detailed information on applying this setup.

 

To create a new Equipment Document Type Setup record, set the fields and options, if used, in New Equipment Document Type and click Add.

Field

Description

Equipment Document Group

Select an option to have it list within the Documents (Equipment) tab. Options in the dropdown are set within Equipment Document Group Setup.

Description

Enter the name of the type (up to 64 characters). The type provides security and access privileges to documents added to the system. The values set for the type are available through Add Document, Edit Equipment Document, and Equipment Document Type Security Setup.

Is Secure

Setting this flag makes documents assigned to this type secure, which means that you can only add and view this type of document if you are assigned to the type through Equipment Document Type Security Setup.

Inactive

Check this flag to inactivate this type; the type no longer appears as an available option for Equipment Documents. Types marked as inactive remain assigned to documents and are visible within the Documents tab in Equipment Setup and within the Documents (Equipment) tab.
