Credit Card Security

EWS does not store nor have access to any credit card account numbers, debit card account numbers, or bank routing and account numbers; however, there are a few bits of information that are stored.

First, what we don’t store. We do not keep on file your credit card or bank account information as these payment types are processed using tokens. Tokens are digital representations of the information; however, they have no value outside the specific context in which it was created. Further, tokens cannot be used to access your financial information. This is why the processing of your financial information through Electronic Payments or Online Payments is secure.

Second, what do we store? We do store some information about the card that are allowed per Payment Card Industry (PCI) rules and which does not put us into what is called PCI Compliance Checks.  Here’s what we know:

We know when it expires.  We use this to know when to stop using the card and to ask for a newer card.

We know the last 4 digits of the account number.  PCI tells us to print this onto a receipt.

We know the type of card.
