Order Information – Other changes coming…
As promised in my last post, I wanted to share a few more changes coming in the Spring 2009 release. One of the changes I eluded to in the last post was new functionality for Guarantee Price Info. The Guarantee Price Info. and other new functionality has been added in support of an additional van line interface (SIRVA Registration Upload) we have been developing this release cycle. We feel that most of the functionality added will be beneficial to all our customers.
Guarantee Price Info – This is the one piece of functionality we are adding that might not be useful outside of the of the SIRVA world. The screen contains information required when registering certain move types. The screen allows the user to identify the maximum containers/packing charge, the credit per CWT if the move goes under and the rate for containers, and packing by carton code.

On the Move Information tab we have changed the following:
The Automobile Make field has been changed from a free form entry field to a drop-down field fed from a setup table. Not a big change but here is what it looks like:

Changes have also been made around Valuation. The valuation type setup has always included the van line, so for many customers the same valuation would have to be set up twice, once for United and once for Mayflower. We have now separated the van line out to a separate mapping table. Now you can set up a certain valuation type once and have it exist for multiple van lines.
In addition, we also added separate setup tables to define the per pound amount. Now instead of having options for “$2.00 Per Pound – $0 Deductible” and “$2.50 Per Pound – $0 Deductible”, you can define something like “Per Pound $0 Deductible” and define the per pound options separately.

In addition, once the per pound amount is selected we will calculate the minimum declared valued based on the weight of the shipment. This value can then be overwritten as needed by the user and will not be re-calculated until a different per pound entry is selected.
Let me know what you think.
